Our People

Matthew Barry - Matthew is a second generation winemaker to his father John and the principal winemaker. Following in the footsteps of his parents, Matthew, and his wife Lisa, now proudly own and operate Mount Avoca.

 

Leanne Etherton- Leanne is our office manager. You will find her at the winery 9am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday. Leanne manages all accounting, stock control, wholesale, cellar door sales and mail order. Leanne has an extensive background working in the wine industry stretching 11 years.

 

Ben Howell- Ben is our Assistant Winemaker and is the third generation Howell to work at Mount Avoca.  Ben has been working at Mount Avoca since 1997.  Nearing completion of his degree in winemaking, Ben is dedicated towards all winery operations and logistics.

Rhonda Howell- Rhonda has truly become the face of our cellar door. Rhonda manages the cellar door on weekends and public holidays and has been with us for an impressive 26 years! She is also an absolute treasure trove of information on all things Mount Avoca!

Graeme Miles- The Vineyard Manager at Mount Avoca. He brings to us over 30 years of experience from various vineyards throughout the Pyrenees Region. He has been at Mount Avoca since 1997 and is dedicated and passionate to achieving the best crop possible.

Colleen Blair- Colleen is another invaluable member of our team in the cellar door. Colleen has become one of the most versatile members to our team having worked in a number of departments over the past 2 years.
